Bend Over Backwards
Try really hard to help or please someone, often more than feels fair.
Examples
- If Jen's swamped with homework, I'll bend over backwards to help her finish it tonight.
- My parents need someone to watch the dog while they're at the wedding, so I'm bending over backwards this weekend.
- I keep bending over backwards for everyone at work — maybe it's time I set some boundaries.
